21st century meeting rooms

As their offices were due for refurbishment, the Learning + Skills Council approached Soundsmith to produce a specification and design for two meeting rooms which were being built within the existing office accommodation. Soundsmith’s designs were accepted and we were commissioned to supply and install the required equipment within a very tight construction timetable. The systems in the meeting rooms were identical to make life simpler for the LSCs staff and to reduce costs. They consisted of a ceiling mounted data/video projector and a SMART interactive whiteboard, complete with DVD/VHS playback, amplifier, wall-mounted speakers and bespoke furniture to house it all. The installation was completed on time and with the minimum of fuss by our time-served installation engineers. As approved suppliers, we were then asked to equip the meeting rooms with ultra high quality facilities for the hard of hearing, ensuring the LSC’s complete compliance with the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) 1994. Our clients were extremely pleased with the end results and ultimately this led onto Soundsmith being awarded the contract to test and maintain all of the LSC’s Infra-red Assistive Listening systems across the North West.
