State of the art conference facilities The Barton Grange Hotel near Preston, has a national reputation for providing first class conference facilities to major corporate clients. The hotel decided to further bolster this reputation by completely refurbishing their main conference suites and as such needed a first class AV integrator to design and install state of the art conferencing facilities. Soundsmith were pleased to assist. The main conference hall could be divided into three acoustically isolated rooms for hire to individual groups, all needed discrete, yet powerful projection systems, to meet the demands of the hotel’s prestigious clients. Although each ‘room’ could be operated completely independently, there was a requirement for all of the projection systems to be able to display the same image when the main hall was completely open for large delegations. Soundsmith designed this facility into the system along with an extremely simple control method. The final demand of the design was that the conference hall could be used for large functions in the evenings & weekends and as such the AV equipment “had to disappear” for these events. Faced with these interesting challenges, Soundsmith specified the use of motorised projector brackets, with ceiling tiles attached to their underside and flush-mounting electric projection screens. Each ‘room’ was provided with convenient wall-connection sockets for laptops, DVD players and their associated audio. This project represented the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship between the Barton Grange Hotel and Soundsmith Limited.
